I’m Adam, a security engineer and infrastructure architect with over two decades in the industry.
I started at a computer repair shop in Illinois and worked my way through systems engineering, software engineering, DevOps, and into security. Infrastructure knowledge and a hacker’s mindset overlap more than most people think.
Where I’ve Worked
Etsy / Six years on the security team (Senior to Staff). Led incident response in GCP, built cloud security alerting, deployed CrowdStrike across the fleet, and helped architect the datacenter-to-GCP migration. Got hired through their bug bounty program.
Reverb.com / Sole infrastructure engineer from 2014 to 2017, supporting the marketplace’s growth from $34M to $429M in annual sales. At peak scale: 10M+ monthly visitors, 60K orders/month, 450K live listings. Built the AWS platform, CI/CD pipelines, and security program. Later helped Etsy complete the $275M acquisition.
FullStory / Senior Staff Cloud Security Engineer. Built the cloud security program in GCP, wrote Golang IAM tooling, and led Kubernetes security migrations.
Earlier / Backend infrastructure for game publishers (2K Games, Bethesda), production systems at Threadless, and designed an automated bare metal provisioning system at a hosting provider.
How I Work
I take on engagements directly and bring in specialists when a project calls for it. Every engagement gets senior-level attention from day one.
Based in the Midwest. Working remotely with clients everywhere.
